Five Star at the Heartland Modified Tour
June 26–27, 2025 • Monett Motor Speedway • Monett, MO
What product or display got the most attention at this stop?
The new Interceptor Nose for sure drew the most attention. One of the support classes at the event was “Bombers” but there are a quite a few Crown Vic’s racing in the division and they all came over to check out the new options.
Were racers asking about anything specific—new parts, mounting tips, or compatibility?
Crown Vic Noses, Tails, Accessories.
Did you get any feedback that might shape how we build or market future MD3 products?
One of the racers showed me a neat concept for a new style hood scuff plate that I found very interesting.
Did we debut or soft-launch anything new at this stop?
We offered apparel for the first time, and we sold (6) Five Star T-Shirts.
Racer Engagement
Any standout conversations with racers or chassis builders?
With the this being the Larry Phillips Memorial, I spent quite a bit of time with Terry Phillips, who manufactures the “Bloodline Race Cars” Modified Chassis. He had (3) cars in competition this weekend with his own USRA Modified, Troy Gudmundson’s USRA Modified and JC Morton’s B-Mod. All ran well all weekend and all three run the MD3 Doors and Quarter Panels on both sides.
How did teams respond to seeing the parts in person versus online?
As this event had a more regional/local flare we had a lot of traffic all weekend as this group of racers doesn’t often get a chance to visit with the body products manufacturer that a typical National Tour type event brings.
Event Vibes
What made this stop different from others on the tour?
Monett Motor Speedway is in it’s 55th year of racing so it is one of if not the longest continuously running tracks in Missouri. There is a lot of history there and it was fun to catch up with a lot of old friends and racers.
What was your favorite moment from the day?
Tanner Mullens swept the weekend in his self-built Mullens Racing Chassis taking home over $15,000 in the process. He is a great guy with a great family and a lot of history in racing. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.
Takeaways & Looking Ahead
Is there anything we need to restock or improve before the next stop?
This stop had the most we’ve ever had, and I think that made it great as we were able to showcase different products each night of the event. We just need to keep expanding our display offerings to cater to the various events that we attend.
What city or event are you most excited about next on the schedule?
I think the WoOLMS Fairbury Prairie Dirt Classic must be the one I’m looking forward to the most on July 24-26 followed by the WoOLMS stop at Wilmot, WI on July 28th.
