Five Star Road Tour at the Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury American Legion Speedway

Trackside Recap with Dan Robinson

At the Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury American Legion Speedway, Five Star and MD3 once again found themselves at the center of the action as racers, crew members, and fans packed the display throughout one of dirt late model racing's most prestigious weekends. With a record 86 Dirt Late Models and nearly 60 DIRTcar Modifieds filling the pits, the event showcased just how deeply MD3 products have become integrated into the sport. Nearly every Dirt Late Model in attendance competed with an MD3 EVO 2 Nose Combo Kit, while MD3 Plastic Doors, Quarter Panels, Hood Scoops, Roofs, Hoods, Rocker Panels, Wheel Flare Kits, and other components were widely represented across both divisions. As Fairbury's legendary cushion developed throughout the weekend, teams quickly learned that the demanding track conditions favored the durability of the new MD3 Plastic Breakaway Spoiler Kit over traditional aluminum spoilers, leading several racers to purchase the new kit Saturday morning. Decal adhesion on MD3 Plastic Panels also remained a common discussion, giving the team another opportunity to recommend the MD3 Adhesion Promoter while gathering valuable customer feedback through the newly launched Voice of the Customer survey. Dan Robinson spent considerable time with Austin Kirkpatrick of AK Race Cars and Shane Clanton of Capital Race Cars discussing future improvements to MD3 Plastic Doors and Quarter Panels, reinforcing Five Star's commitment to developing products directly from racer input. Fairbury promoter Matt Curl once again provided the Road Tour with a premier location near the pit entrance, allowing racers and spectators alike to experience Five Star and MD3 products firsthand—an advantage that continues to prove invaluable over simply viewing products online or in a catalog. The debut of the new Hardgear Headwear rope hats was another highlight, quickly becoming a fan favorite throughout the weekend. Saturday night's emotional victory by Brandon Sheppard, earning his fourth Prairie Dirt Classic crown and first since returning to the Rocket Chassis house car, brought one of the loudest celebrations of the season, while 18-year-old Trey Mills turned heads by leading much of the feature event and establishing himself as one of dirt racing's brightest young talents. With Fairbury complete, the Road Tour now shifts its focus to two consecutive weeks at Knoxville Raceway for the 360 Nationals and Knoxville Nationals, where Five Star will debut an all-new custom Sprint Car display while supporting multiple teams competing at the Sprint Car Capital of the World.
