Five Star at the UMP Summer Nationals

What stood out at this stop?
The new DLM Spoiler with built in plastic breakaway continues to generate interest as it is something much better than the standard complete aluminum spoiler.

What were racers asking about?
Several racers have begun asking about producing the chassis panels that run along the frame under the deck to protect the driveline and oil tank areas. The current choices available are typically too heavy or not strong enough to survive in the environment they are in. This is something we will investigate.

Any standout racer conversations?
IMCA Mod racer Steve Mueller shared glowing praise of the MD3 Body Panels as he has over 40 nights on his current set of panels.

What questions or challenges are racers bringing up more often this season?
Racers are always looking for more cost-effective, more durable products—and that is something we bring to the table with our MD3 High Impact Plastic products.

How did teams respond to seeing products in person?
Having a presence at the track and showcasing products in person had a very big impact, especially with Wilmot being so close to our facility. They appreciated the support of the local track and the grassroots type of support.

What made this stop unique?
This stop was unique as it was so close to the office. We had lots of positive comments with long-time Five Star family and friends that stopped by to say hello. Wilmot also doesn’t often host national-level DLM events, so it was nice to see a large crowd on a Monday night. Looking forward to the WoOLMS event on July 28^th.

Favorite moment?
For me personally, it was a special day as I was able to sit in the grandstands at the track I’ve grown up at since I was a teenager and enjoy racing as a fan for a bit. I love talking and interacting with racers, but it is not often I just enjoy the race for the race that it is.
