Five Star Sprinter van at Knoxville Raceway for the Premier Chevy Dealers Clash Road Tour stop

Trackside Recap with Dan Robinson

At the Premier Chevy Dealers Clash at Knoxville Raceway, the focus was squarely on Five Star’s new Sprint Car body, which generated steady traffic throughout the weekend as teams asked about performance, weight, durability, material options, and cost. Early adopters continue to provide valuable feedback, with both the Tyler Courtney CMR team and Donny Schatz’s CJB Motorsports operation reporting strong results after running the body since February. Notably, Barry Jackson of CJB shared that the team is still using its original body from the season-opening races in Florida, highlighting the product’s durability while teams continue to refine airflow and cooling strategies to maximize performance. Racer engagement was strong, including a conversation with Donny Schatz, who expressed satisfaction with the body’s results as he continues to compete near the front of the World of Outlaws standings. Teams that had previously only heard about the product appreciated the opportunity to see and handle it in person, with Chad from the Mosites-Lynch Team and driver Sye Lynch showing strong interest after discussing the available options. With 65 of the nation’s top sprint car teams competing at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, the atmosphere at Knoxville was electric, and Five Star bodies were represented by standout competitors including Tyler Courtney, Donny Schatz, and Logan Julien. One of the weekend’s highlights came when Schatz charged from 25th to 10th in Saturday’s feature after a difficult draw, giving teams a real-world look at the aerodynamic advantages the Five Star body can deliver at one of the fastest tracks in sprint car racing. Looking ahead, the Road Tour heads to Kokomo Speedway for the Driven2SaveLives Bryan Clauson Hero Classic, where Five Star will continue gathering feedback, supporting racers, and showcasing its growing presence in the sprint car market.
