Trackside Recap with Dan Robinson
At this stop, Five Star and MD3 hit an important milestone in the Northeast
Modified market by showcasing all three NE Modified Door and Quarter Panels
together for the first time on a hands-on display, allowing racers and crews
to physically touch, inspect, and compare the panels up close—a
difference-maker that sparked strong interest and positive feedback
throughout the event. Racers asked detailed questions about mounting,
durability, heat distortion, and especially graphics adhesion, with many
pleasantly surprised to learn that MD3 already offers a high-quality
adhesion promoter designed specifically for these panels. As confidence
continues to grow—driven by successful on-track use from teams like
Alex Yankowski, Jessica Power, and Mike Mahaney—conversations naturally
shifted toward future product opportunities, including rocker panels, upper
quarters, hoods, roofs, and cockpit deflectors. Time spent with the Glenn
Styres Racing team highlighted the crossover appeal of MD3’s Modified
panels for builders familiar with Five Star’s pavement Late Model and
Sprint Car products, while seeing the parts in person proved critical, with
multiple teams stopping by after hearing about the panels in the pits and
around the campfire. Being onsite for this 53rd-year event in the heart of
the Northeast Modified and Pro Stock region reinforced Five Star’s
commitment to these racers, and clean installations like Jessica Power
Racing’s MD3 panels, rocker panels, and wear strip mounting bolts
showed just how sharp the bodies can look when properly set up.
