Trackside Recap with Dan Robinson
At Gateway Dirt Nationals inside The Dome at America’s Center, the conversation
quickly centered on survival, with plastic breakaway spoilers and plastic
quarter panels dominating discussion as cars took a beating in the tight indoor
confines. Breakaway spoilers were the most talked-about product, with racers
asking how they mount, adjust, and hold up in such an aggressive environment,
while repeated requests for a left-side MD3 Dirt Late Model panel highlighted a
clear opportunity moving forward. As our first time setting up as a vendor at
Gateway, interest was strong across all product categories—especially with top
racers like Charlie Mefford, Kyle Brown, Tanner Mullens, and Terry Phillips
stopping by the booth. A shared quarter panel display featuring both Dirt Late
Model and Modified parts helped racers clearly see the durability advantage over
competing options, and the on-track results backed it up: cars running MD3
plastic quarter panels won five of the six main events, including the top four
Late Model finishers on Saturday night, capped by Bobby Pierce and Ricky Thornton
Jr. sweeping the Saturday mains.
